About
About Chef Avenly Galardi
Hello! I’m Avenly Galardi, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to my kitchen. As an alumna of the Culinary Institute of America, I’ve dedicated my career to transforming how people experience cooking—making it approachable, creative, and deeply rewarding. My passion for cooking stems from a genuine belief that everyone can cook with confidence and joy. Throughout my culinary training at the CIA, I’ve learned that the most important ingredient isn’t in any recipe—it’s the desire to create something meaningful. That’s what I bring to every class I teach.
My Philosophy: Cooking as an Experience
Cooking is more than following a recipe—it’s about creating experiences, memories, and joy. Whether you’re learning to make pasta from scratch or exploring new flavor combinations, my goal is to help you build confidence and creativity that lasts a lifetime.
I believe that:
- Everyone can cook – Regardless of your starting point, you have the potential to create delicious meals
- Techniques matter – Learning proper techniques empowers you to cook anything
- Ingredients tell a story – Where your food comes from matters, and it makes a difference in how it tastes
- Food builds community – Cooking and sharing meals create lasting connections
My Culinary Inspiration: Mediterranean Cuisine
I have a deep appreciation for Mediterranean cuisine—a culinary tradition rooted in vibrant flavors, fresh ingredients, and a connection to the land. The Mediterranean approach to cooking resonates with my values because it celebrates.
- Fresh, Local Produce – From ripe tomatoes to fragrant basil to crisp vegetables from the market.
- Sustainability & Community – Choosing ingredients consciously and supporting local farmers.
- Culinary Tradition – Honoring time-tested techniques and recipes passed down through generations.
A Philosophy I Live By
“Pay the farmer now or pay the doctor later”
This simple yet profound principle guides everything I teach. When we invest in fresh, quality ingredients and approach cooking with mindfulness, we’re not just creating better meals—we’re supporting our health and our communities.
